I was a featured photographer at the Canon exhibit for the Art Expo at Javits. My photos of dancers and various other shots of landmarks of New York and classic cars were used to demonstrate the superb image quality of the Canon professional wide format photo printers, including the 17”, 44” and 60” imagePROGRAF printers.

I am pictured here with ballet master teacher, Peff Modelski of New York City. We collaborated on this photo entitle Pas de Quatre in our first round of re-creating historical dances. The interesting thing about this photo is that I had to shoot it as two separate photos and combine them into one. There were only 2 dancers available to shoot so we had to create some magic!!
I became interested in shooting dancers after watching my daughter dance from 3 years old through her teen years. I started taking ballet classes myself and eventually figured out there was a dancer inside waiting to get out. This study enabled me to understand more about dancers and how to photograph them.
The Pas de Quatre, originally choreographed by Jules Perrot in 1845, was one of the first ballets to be performed en pointe and was performed for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. This photo features dancers Elizabeth Brown and Christin Hanna who dance with the New Chamber Ballet of New York City.
